Simcoe Driving School operates simcoedrivingschool.ca and provides driving instruction. This policy explains how personal information is handled when you visit our website, contact us through our forms or WhatsApp, or provide information about lessons and registration.
Information you provide
Our enquiry form asks for your name, contact details, location, learner or enquiry type, course and package preferences, referral source and message. It also offers a driver’s licence image upload and includes a consent statement about specified course-related disclosures. A short sign-up form on some pages collects your email address.
Please provide only information relevant to your request. Do not include payment-card details, account passwords or unrelated identity documents in a message. A licence image contains sensitive information; contact us first if you are unsure whether it is needed for your request.
How information is used
We use information supplied to us to respond to enquiries, discuss suitable lessons, arrange services, communicate about registration and administer the services you request. An email address from the sign-up form is used to contact you about lessons. Website usage and advertising information help us understand which pages and campaigns lead to visits and enquiries.
Website technology and advertising
The website uses WordPress and Contact Form 7 for forms, Google Analytics through Site Kit for usage measurement, Google Ads for advertising measurement, and Meta tracking through PixelYourSite. These services may process technical information such as browser and device details, pages visited, referring links, cookie identifiers and interactions with the website. Google Ads links may contain an identifier connecting a visit with an advertisement. When you send an enquiry through our contact form, we record whether you reached the website from one of our Google ads in the previous 90 days, with the date and the ad-click reference, so we can tell which advertising leads to enquiries. This reference is kept with your enquiry.
The forms include Cloudflare Turnstile to help distinguish legitimate requests from automated traffic. External maps, social links and course services may have their own privacy practices. When you follow an external link, review the destination’s policy.
Browser settings can restrict or remove cookies. Google and Meta provide controls for their advertising and privacy settings. Those controls may not stop every form of measurement. The website currently does not display a cookie-consent banner or hold analytics and advertising tags until you make a consent choice. These technologies may operate when you visit the website.
WhatsApp conversations
Some of our Facebook and Instagram ads open a conversation with us on WhatsApp. When you message us there, we receive your WhatsApp name, phone number and the messages and answers you send. The conversation may begin with an automated welcome message and a few suggested questions with automated answers. Messages are read and answered by the school’s owner, and we use them to answer your questions and arrange lessons.
WhatsApp and Meta process these conversations under their own terms and privacy policies. Meta also tells us how many conversations our ads started, which helps us measure our advertising. You can stop the conversation at any time, and you can ask us to delete messages we hold.
Who may receive information
Information submitted through the forms or WhatsApp is handled by the school’s email, website and messaging services and the people who respond to requests or arrange lessons. A licence uploaded through the enquiry form is attached to the submission email. Analytics and advertising services receive information generated by their website tags, as described above.
Where required for driver-education registration, certification or auditing, relevant learner and course records may be disclosed to the Ministry of Transportation, the Insurance Bureau of Canada, or an auditing firm retained by the Ministry, as described in the consent requested during registration. Information is shared for the applicable course-administration, certification or audit purpose. If you use an external course or registration service, review that service’s privacy notice as well.
Service providers may process information outside Canada. Where this happens, information may be subject to the laws and lawful access requirements of the countries in which it is processed.
Retention and protection
You may request deletion of your personal information by contacting us. We will delete information under our control upon request, unless we are required or permitted to retain it for applicable legal, Ministry record-keeping or other legitimate obligations. If an exception applies, we will explain it. We also limit retention to what is needed for the purposes described in this policy and applicable obligations; information is not kept indefinitely simply because no deletion request was received.
Our policy is to limit access to people and service providers who need the information for their work and to use safeguards appropriate to its sensitivity. No online or email system can guarantee complete security.
Your choices and requests
You can contact the school to request access to or correction of your personal information, ask about its use or disclosure, or raise a privacy concern. You can also ask us to stop contacting you about lessons, or to withdraw consent for other optional uses. Withdrawal may affect services that depend on the information, and some records may need to be retained for legal or contractual reasons. Identity verification may be needed before information is released or changed.

Reviews, testimonials and photographs
We are proud of our students’ results and may share reviews, testimonials and photographs on our website, social media, printed materials and advertising. We do this with the student’s permission, or a parent’s or guardian’s permission for a young learner, and we may crop or resize them to suit each format. We may also link to our public reviews on Google and other platforms.
If you would like us to stop featuring your review or photograph, contact us and we will remove it from future use on our channels.
Young learners
Driving-school enquiries may involve young learners and parents or guardians. Information should be limited to what is needed to respond or provide the requested service. Where a learner cannot give meaningful consent, the school should involve an appropriate parent or guardian. Public use of student photographs or testimonials is a separate permission decision.
Changes
The published version will show its effective date. Material changes in collection, use or disclosure should be explained before the new practice begins, with fresh consent where required.
