Winter Driving Lessons in Barrie and Simcoe County
Snow, icy side streets and early darkness make winter a tough season to drive in. Our private winter driving lessons help you practise in the conditions you will actually face, with a patient instructor beside you.
They suit new drivers facing their first winter and experienced drivers who want more confidence on snowy roads.
What we practise
Lessons focus on the habits that matter most in snow and ice: smooth steering, gentle braking and acceleration, leaving more space, reading the road ahead and planning for poor visibility.
We also cover getting your car ready for winter, from clearing snow and ice to what to keep in the car. When conditions allow, you practise on real winter roads rather than only talking about them.

How it works
Book a lesson and tell us what worries you most about winter driving. Your instructor plans the lesson around it and adjusts to the weather on the day.
You can book a single lesson or a few across the season.
We talk through what to do if the car starts to slide, and practise the smooth control that helps prevent it. We do not deliberately skid the car on public roads.
Your instructor decides whether it is safe to drive and plans the lesson around the conditions.
No. They suit anyone who wants more confidence in winter, including drivers new to Canada who have not driven in snow before.
The BDE course covers driving in different conditions. These winter lessons are separate private lessons for extra practice.
